The 24th October journal club meeting was devoted to the topic of Anthocyanins in cardioprotection: A path through mitochondriaThe cardioprotective activity of anthocyanins was discussed. The signal transduction pathways and mitochondrial functions were highlighted. New pharmacological effects on the mitochondria through cytosolic cytochrome C, apoptosis, electron transfer between NADH dehydrogenase and cytochrome C, and oxidative phosphorylation in ischemia were exolained.
